Images from a ‘Les Liliacées’ by Pierre-Joseph Redouté. Published between 1805 – 1816, Les Liliacées contained pictures and descriptions of all members of the Liliales family.

These illustrations were created by Swedish artist Henriette Sjöberg for a 1912 Swedish Gardeners Association fruit growing reference manual.

Lena Lowis (1845 – 1919) was an English naturalist, illustrator and writer.  In 1878, she published the book Familiar Indian Flowers which features her paintings of flowers.

Some of James Sowerby’s illustrations from ‘English Botany’ – an encyclopedia of English plants published in 36 volumes over 23 years.

In 1885, the German botanist and illustrator Otto Thome published his compedium “Flora von Deutschland’ containing 572 illustrations. We’ve selected a few to feature.

These prints are taken from an 1892 volume Roses and Rose Culture published by the Stecher Lithographic Company of Rochester NY.
