English Botany was an encyclopedia of English plants from naturalist Sir James Edward Smith and illustrator James Sowerby. It was published in 36 volumes over 23 years from 1790 to 1814 and contained 2,592 of Sowerby’s hand-colored, detailed copper etchings. We’ve selected a variety of illustrations from this work then outlined/digitally enhanced them, and are offering them as botanical canvas prints.

We’ve outlined the images, digitally-enhanced them, and are offering them as 8”x10″ or 11″x14″ canvas prints wrapped on a 0.75” frame. Printed on 333 gs/m cotton/poly canvas wrapped on frames made from responsibly sourced radiata pine. Hanging hardware is pre-installed.
